Apache Burgers in Etobicoke was listed amongst blogTO's Best Onion Rings in Toronto (http://www.blogto.com/toronto/the_best_onion_rings_in_toronto/). So, I decided to make a quick pitstop at Apache Burgers on my way from Toronto to Milton this evening. I walked out with a burger and the rings ($9.13 taxes in, no drink).
ReplyDeleteThe burger tastes more "homemade" than any fast food burger out there, like a backyard bbq burger, although a little thin on the patti.
The rings were good - classic rings that you'd expect from any indie diner, but boy were they greasy, which goes with being classic. But even after brushing and gargling, I can still feel the greasy coating in my mouth. Par for the course for a good ring I guess. I wouldn't make any special detours again, but if in the area, I would choose Apache over any of the "too many" fast food joints close by.

You should try Hero Burger. Their burgers are a bit pricey and a bit of a wait but they are so good. They have that fresh off the bbq taste as well and you can also choose the size of burger you want.
ReplyDeleteSince we're talking burgers, the best burger I've ever had in my life was from Weber's, a fast food joint that's along the side of the highway (Highway 11, near Bracebridge). Flame-broiled, juicy, fantastic! The burgers are assembled in a line and the employees sing as they're cooking. There's no seating inside, but there's a neat little converted railway car outside where you can sit and enjoy your meal.
ReplyDeleteI've only had Hero's veggie burgers and was addicted to them for a long time. Their toppings are incredible, like blue cheese and other gourment ingredients.
